On 17 June 2019, Amitabh sir tweeted and revealed that the shooting of the film had begun.”One done another begun. Travel, location change, look change, crew change, colleagues change, city change and story change. From Lucknow today Gulabo Sitabo and the look? Well, what can I say?” he tweeted.
The shooting of the movie is taking place in Lucknow.
Ayushmann Khurrana, in an interview, told that he was both excited and nervous about working with the legendary star Amitabh Bachchan.
The director of the movie in an interview with Mumbai Mirror told that the film takes its name from the glove puppet characters of Uttar Pradesh.
The director further added that Sitabo is the name of the worn-out, overworked wife of a man and Gulabo is his enticing mistress. The story is full of local humor and the spices that depict the nuances of daily life.
On 17 June, Amitabh Bachchan arrived Lucknow and on 18 June morning, he went for the visit of the shooting location.
After the movie Pink, Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi (screenwriter) had come together with Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh sir and Ayushmann will be on the big screen for the first time.
